HELLO AND WELCOME!!

My name is Kyle Pelletier and I am a Grade 8 student who enjoys video games.

With the help of my uncle, I have started this blog to let you know about a fundraising activity I am participating in.

And it involves.......video games!

We recently heard about an organization called Extra Life.  Just click on the photo to the right that says "Be A Hero" for more information.  Their motto is "Play Games. Heal Kids."

Extra Life's goal is to raise funds for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals all over the world.  They do this by having people just like you and me play video games while gathering donations.  I live in Calgary, so the hospital I am raising funds for is the Alberta Children's Hospital.

So how do I raise funds?

On Saturday, October 25, 2014 at 8:00am I will be participating in a video game marathon.  The goal is to play video games for 24 hours straight.  All while raising money for a great cause.

Now, 24 hours in a row is tough.  But the idea and spirit of Extra Life is that everyone pulls together at the same time.  While I won't be able to put in 24 hours consecutively....I will commit to 24 hours of gaming for this charity.  And I plan on getting up and ready to play at 8:00am on Oct. 25th (so is my uncle).

You can donate under my name at any time by visiting my donations page on Extra Life.  I have put a link to the page on the right hand side of this blog.  My goal is to raise $500.  That's 20 people donating $1 for every hour of video games I play during this marathon.

Thank you for taking the time to look at my blog.  Keep checking back as I get closer to the big day.
